Latest sponsor to join the GC2018 sponsor family is Aura, a Queensland company which will also build portable wooden sports floors at the basketball and netball venues.

Commonwealth Games Minister Kate Jones gave the seal of approval to the family-run and owned company at Queensland’s Parliament House, where Aura Sports Floors representatives set up temporary flooring to showcase their home-grown product.

The Aura family business under Managing Director, Ari Jelekainenwill lay around 1,563 sqm of Speed Lock and 608 sqm of Rome 20 across the Games locations at the Coomera Indoor Sports Centre and the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Aura has a track record having already delivered the infield at the Anna Meares Velodrome, which has opened the way for sports other than cycling to be played there long after the games are over.

Aura’s clients include: Melbourne Olympic Park Trust; Sydney Olympic Park; 2015 Pacific Games; Australian Institute of Sport; Western Australia Institute of Sport; Western Australia State Netball; Western Australian State Basketball Centre and The University of QLD.
