Making like a kangaroo

Making like a kangaroo

Skippy’s been using it for years, so we’re not sure why the makers of this “modern recreation” of the 1990s bumbag – or their PR company – are calling it revolutionary.

Either way, the Vivra pouch has a range of uses, and solves the problem of carrying valuables and small personal items, such as their credit cards, keys and mobile phones.

Brisbane entrepreneur Emily Bitkow says she used to carry a handbag or clutch, but was never truly handsfree. “It seemed to me to go completely against what athleisure wear was meant to be – clothing that allowed the wearer to be as mobile and active as they wanted to be.”

The Vivra pouch is her solution to the problem. With its patented bifold design, it folds over the waistband of any garment without the need for a belt, and is snapped into place with neodymium magnets.

Bitkow says the durable and machine-washable neoprene keeps it slimline, robust and water resistant and can be produced in a range of styles, colours and designs.
