Rebel kicks off with AFLWRebel has signed a three-year partnership with the AfLs men’s and women’s national leagues, as the new AFLW launches with a battle between Collingwood and Carlton.
In its role as official partner, Rebel will lend its commercial support to the inaugural AFLW championship and collaborate on a marketing initiative to increase the profiles of its players.
Rebel will be also backing the AFL’s grassroots participation programme Auskick and Junior Football and will provide discounts and benefits to registered AFL players.
Rebel’s managing director Erica Berchtold reports, “We are really excited about this partnership which further highlights our commitment to women in sport. “AFL is helping to pave the way in this space, and we want to be right there by their side.”
• Wine for all: Wolf Blass will be an official sponsor too. The Aussie wine brand has now expanded its agreement to become a foundation sponsor for the AFL Women’s League.
Its branding signage will be visible at all games during the eight-week tournament.
Wolf Blass has signed Adelaide Crows player Abbey Holmes as a brand ambassador.
