Noosa Tri breaks records in the sun

Noosa Tri breaks records in the sun Among the special moments at the Noosa Multi-Sport Festival was Ashleigh Gentle’s third consecutive elite triathlon win.

After a disappointing Olympic debut, she ended the season with her third win at the huge event in the popular Queensland resort town. Brisbane’s Dan Wilson took out the men’s event.

Organisers of the five day event which packs the town out reported they were thrilled that 10,000 people were participating in the wide range of events which included runs, cycling events, ocean swims and children’s triathlons.

And this makes the triathlon “the world’s biggest Olympic distance tri in the world, ” say organisers Ironman with 180 events in more than 20 countries.

The accompanying expo held in Noosa Woods attracted 70 plus exhibitors, from regulars such as sponsors ASICS and Arena, 2XU, Injinji Performance Products, Garmin, Vorgee, Rocktape, Subaru and Endura, along with first-timers such as Barz Optics, Bexter, Grip-It Tape and Cosi-G women’s activwear.
