Wahu Groms season kicks off

Wahu Groms season kicks off New Woolworths Surfer Groms Comps presented by Wahu series is set to return this weekend with first event kicking off on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

More than 100 competitors are expected to compete in the two-day event, which will see some of the nation's most promising young surfers competing for prizes, in and out of the water.

Base for event one of the event Woolworths Surfer Groms Comps presented by Wahu is Dee Why with backup locations of Collaroy, Curl Curl, Freshwater and Long Reef.
One of the major annual stepping stones in the development of young Australian surfers, the ten-event Groms Comps caters for surfers from under 8 to under 14 and will be held around the country, except NT, and end with the Tasmanian event in February. 

Around 800 junior surfers will participate in this series.

Winners of the under 14 boys’ and girls’ divisions from each event will receive an invite to attend an all-expenses paid, three-day camp at the Hurley Surfing Australia High-Performance Centre.
