Mizuno has grown substantially in the performance running category in Australia and has now expanded into football, netball and tennis footwear here.

Mizuno has sponsored some of the world’s football greats including Brazillian world cup winning star Rivaldo.

Today ambassadors include Japan & AC Milan’s Honda, Brazilian superstar Hulk and the Queensland Reds in the Super Rugby and the GWS AFLW side in Australia.

Hero product of the Mizuno football range is the Morelia Neo 2 MD, reported to be the lightest K-Leather boot in the market.

The netball range is new to Mizuno globally but has gained some great traction in Europe as major sponsors of the English national team.

Products in the netball line-up include the Wave Mirage, also claimed as the lightest in its category, and the Wave Phantom lightweight with excellent stability.

Unlike Netball, Mizuno has been around tennis for some time – remember seeing former world number one Ivan Lendl sporting the Mizuno run bird?

The launch of tennis footwear in January was perfect timing –seen in Mizuno tennis gear at the Australian Open was Marcos Bagdahtis, serving giant Ivo Karlovic and Aussie Marc Polmans who made the doubles semi-final.

Says Head of Sport Division Shane Holub, “Mizuno is taking exciting steps forward that enable the brand to keep growing in Australia– check out the new ranges.”
