Bears, Dogs fight it out on ice
The Australian Ice Hockey League will hold its season opener between two Sydney teams this week on the refurbished Macquarie Ice rink.
Owner of the venue, Dr Frank Gregg, is excited to welcome competitive ice hockey back to the venue for the first time since 1999.
“With eight teams across the country competing in the Australian Ice Hockey League, its profile within the community is on the rise. We can’t wait to welcome spectators out to our new-look rink,” he said.
Of the 116 games in the AIHL 2017 season, 28 are to be played at Macquarie Ice Rink between now and August. The venue has seating for up to 2000 people.
