Redback Sport was established in 1997 by Bruce and Sandy Ottaway to supply junior golf equipment to the market.

As there was little available for juniors at the time other than cut-down adult clubs, and as parents of a keen junior themselves, the new product was a big hit.

The Young Gun brand quickly became the leading brand in Australia for junior golfers and is now sold through over 400 golf club Pro Shops around the country.

Recently Redback started distributing the LifeGear brand of sports eyewear, Tropicare sun protection and NU Max Cooler Sun sleeves and base layer apparel.
